With the doubtful state of our current administration we may be blocked out of Woolum campground. Who is planning to camp Friday night?

I was just wondering today if the NFS might have put up blockades to keep people out of the Federal land!   ::)  Here's hoping ya'll don't find the great outdoors has been shut down!   :o

Well, nothing else the Feds have done recently has made any sense!  In fact, it denies all sensible logic.  Somehow the NPS has workers who aren't being paid, yet are putting up roadblocks to keep people out of public land that is wide open.  I don't know if the NFS is doing the same or not.

I think some of that is a flaw in the media. Some of those areas have more than meets the eye. Grand Canyon? Uranium mines out the wazoo. Ecoterrorism is a concern. But ecotourism is similar to ecoterrorism.

I camped off the Co. Rd next to the Woolum ford. Someone had destroyed the barricade to the campground. Woolum was shallow, like 24-30" deep. Talked to some boys on an atv driving on falling water falls.

Hit a secret road of mine, little tight but worth it. Watched some AT tires conquer the pit O' despair.  Found hunting dogs. Climbed a good ravine. Called owner of dogs and led them home. Missed a turn, skipped scouting a trail that was impassable as its all private land now. Noticed the FJC had an accident on the 80. Crossed the big piney. In 2wd. Found a cool road that deadends at a gate. Tried to find pilot rock, missed it. Told stories around the camp fire of bear and cougars.

Woke up and hit the road. Hippies camped in a bad place for a good photo. Illegally. Hit some more trail. Drove up a ravine with no issues. Almost died from the panic of the passenger in the 80 when it got tippy.

All in all, good weekend.
