Where is everyone's favorite place to back woods camp (Arkansas)

We all like to get off the camp grounds every now and again. Where is your favorite place? It seems like there are a lot of people from the ozark area and I would like to find more places in and Around Arkansas to go.

I don't divulge secrets that easily O0

The best way to find a good primitive camping spot is to explore. My honey hole is around the big piney, but it is heavily visited.

Well dang I was hoping I could ;D .

I have found a nice little secluded spot out in the winona WMA and another one down around the now  closed Albert pike camp grounds. It is definitely a shame that area is closed.

I'm rather fond of Big bend, back country Bandelier and the Jemez (although they had a big fire out there a couple years ago), and Lincoln forest near Cloudcroft, NM.

As far as Arkansas goes, Albert Pike and Big Piney are a sure bet.

Not really back country, but when it's really hot out, camping on the White River north of Cotter, AR  is almost like having air conditioning.  The water is in the very low 50's and it chills the air at night.   We also saw quite a few breakfast size trout pulled out in the mornings.

Not a backcountry site but we stayed at the Broc lake campsite last week for the OOR14 and it was great!

I like the backcountry site on the eagle rock loop trail where the big swimming hole is, against the rock bluff.

There is a spot near the little Missouri falls that I've stayed at in years past.  Its off a short trail and doesn't look like much when you pull in, but its golden IMO.

So many great places on the Ozark Highland Trail.  One of my favorites is just off HWY 23 at Cherry Bend Trail head and hike up to Hare Mountain.   Parts of an old cabin are still on top of the mountain and the views are amazing.  Just under 7 miles each way.  Check out Ozark Highlands Trail Association on Facebook for some good info.
