Actually sorry, but I'm going to stick to the other trip since its closer with the baby being due in Feb..  4.5hrs vs 8. Wife would feel much better the closer I am.  Although one of these times I really want to get out there..

Yes, even for us located in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the distance makes it quite the roadtrip to get there.

Basically, the calander is penciled for this trip between 27th of December till about the 5th of January.

Basically, we will work our way from east to west. Starting with the National Park first and ending the trip in the State Park. The primary starting point will be in Marathon, Texas. Once inside the park we will mostly be on desert two-track and unimproved roads. Transitioning from the National Park to the State Park we will resupply in Terlingua, Texas before heading to the State Park. The State Park is a bit more rugged and isolated. Hopefully we can get a camp spot there that would be ideal to celebrate New Year's at.

Having been over all of both parks I am open to where yall would like to go. So I am open...

Feel free to ask questions.

I'm picking up a camper shell tonight and will build a sleeping platform/storeage for me and the soon to be Mrs. Wade.

Anyone got any pointers?

I'm hopeful I can make this one. Would love to get out there with y'all again.  Nigel, see if you can pencil in at least one night at guale 2.

Don't build it all in 3/4". Razorbackcruiser is fresh from his build so he has a few points of experience to share.

Hey Nathan! How is the family?

Guale 2 is where I intend to spend New Year's eve at. Staying there for two days.

Well I picked up a used A.R.E. cap on Friday in GREAT shape! I kinda feel bad because I beat the seller up pretty bad on price  O:-)

But it's WAY nicer than my last cap and thank GOD it isn't the kind that mates to the back of the cab with a rubber seal (My last one rubbed through the paint). Unfortunately It doesn't have windoors but it does have screens on the sliding glass. Let the storage/sleeping platform build begin. I'll start after Thanksgiving.
